Disneyland-Traveling!!!

How excited we were to be on our way to California for a visit to Disneyland!  We drove down to Salt Lake on Sunday, November 20, 2011 and stayed in a hotel by the airport.  Our kids haven't stayed in that many hotels, so they get so excited when we get to.  This time was no different!  They were jumping on beds, opening drawers, checking out what was out the curtained window, etc.  We hurried to get on the swimsuits (well, the kids did anyway) and headed down to the pool.  After a fun time swimming, we got showered and changed and went with Mike, Tammie, and their boys to dinner at P.F. Changs.  YUM!  After dinner, we stopped at a gas station and grabbed Hostess Donuts and chocolate milks for the next morning's breakfast.

We had to wake up at 3:30 am to catch the airport shuttle and be at the airport.  The kids woke right up, bright eyed and ready for our fun adventure.  I had done the girls hair  the night before and had them wear comfortable clothes to bed so that all we had to do was get up and go.  Even McKoy, who takes after his mom dad and is a BEAR to wake up jumped right out of his sleeping bag and got dressed!  (we had two queens so the boys slept in their sleeping bags and let their sisters sleep in the bed.)  We were able to load up into the shuttle, all of us fit in one van, with Mike and Tammie.  We were also able to leave our cars in the hotel parking lot all week for free, instead of having to pay for long term parking at the airport.
 Our Flight was scheduled to leave at 7:15 am, and both Mike and Damien were concerned about getting checked in and everything settled in time.  We got their with OODLES of time, so we sat around, ate our donuts and chocolate milk, and then headed for the departure gate.  While going through security, McKoy and Damien had to be frisked-I guess they just randomly do them-and McKoy was a little worried when he had to do that.  Good thing Damien was right there next to him, reassuring him that everything was alright, because he did look a lot concerned!  We got through the rest of security without a hitch, found our gate, and then got to HURRY UP AND WAIT!

Poor little Hudson was a little confused why we were up so blasted early!  Good thing he had these two girls around to keep him entertained!  He is such a funny little guy and we were so glad they decided to bring him along. He was one of the highlights of the trip for all four of my kids!

I know these are a little blurry, but I wanted to include them anyway.  I am so glad I got to go on this fun trip with these cute boys!

Carter's face says it all in this picture!  We had four very excited kids on this airplane-not to mention two parents who were looking forward to it too!



McKoy was excited (understatement of the century) to finally board the plane.  He didn't move from this position for quite awhile-fascinated by all he saw out the window.

We found very good prices for our flight on Jet Blue.  I was so impressed by this airline, especially when it came to flying with our kids.  Each seat was really big and comfortable, and they had their own little TVs with Direct TV!  Addison and Eden watched Dora and Team Umizoomi, while the boys and dad each had their turned to ESPN, Scooby Doo, or Outdoor Channel.  The stewardess' were nice to give us extra cookies and snacks and were very nice to the kids.  They all did great on the flight, and were so excited to finally arrive in sunny California!



The Party Bus



Mike and Aunt Mickie rented this bus to take our big group (there were 35 of us) from the airport to our hotel.  I about died laughing when we walked into the inside and saw that POLE right smack dab in the middle.  We, of course, told the kids it was in there so kids who used the bus would have something to play on while we loading up the luggage!  HAHAHA!!!  It was also decked out with flat screens, strobe lights, and a disco ball!



As the bus rolled along the crazy, busy interstate, the bus got quieter and quieter, as 35 tired Idahoans watched the sights of sunny California go pass.

Addison and Eden were asleep in record time!

We got to our hotel and found out our rooms weren't quite ready, so we got to HURRY UP AND WAIT some more. After a while, we found our rooms, got settled, and were ready to enjoy our trip!
