Yes, yes, take a second and laugh about UNCLE COLTER!!! Everyone does, including us-just the Uncle part, not at Colter. :) Most people find it hilarious that my kids have an uncle who is eight, and that one of my children is older than his uncle! They could be college roommates, serve missions together, and raise families at the same time! Well, if you're giggles are gone now, I'll go ahead with the rest of the post...
One day in early March, Damien's cell phone rang. He answered it and heard a little voice say, "Damien, will you baptize me?" Damien quickly answered, "Sure!" and Colter hung up. We laughed about it, because the way the phone call went was total "Colter". I was a lot a little surprised that Colter would want Damien to baptize him, simply because Damien takes the role of "big brother" very seriously and would feel like a failure if he left from a visit to his family and didn't cause tears, tantrums, or whining from Colter. But Colter must have realized that is the way Smith's show love-the meaner the joke, the longer the teasing , the more you throw someone under the bus, the more that person actually LOVES you! :):):) (It took me a while to realize this, but now I can hold my own during our visits...haha)
We were excited to see Colter make this important choice in his life, and Damien was happy to have this privilege. We are sure thankful for Colter and his funny personality that makes hi unique. Congratulations on your big step, Colter!
