Easter 2011

Saturday, we trekked the whole block to the City Park for the Shelley Easter Egg Hunt.  We had never been before, and to put our experience into a few words: DISASTER, WASTE OF TIME, COMPLETE LET DOWN...yeah, that would just about sum it up.
The little girls and I headed over to the 3 and under spot, while the boys stayed with dad at the 6 to 8 year old section.  We waited, and waited, and waited for it to start, and when it did, both the girls weren't sure what to make of all the chaos!  Addison hurried and picked up the first two eggs she saw, then looked around to see confused 2 year olds, crying 3 year olds, and bugged parents.  The ratio of eggs vs. kids was grossly off, and some little kids had NO EGGS in their basket!!!  Eden hadn't been able to put any in hers, but Addison was quick to put of her 2 in Eden's little basket.  The boys got a couple each, but the outcome was pretty much the same for all ages.  Hopefully next year it's a little better turn out!  (if we even decide to attempt a community egg hunt-sometimes their too much work for what you get out of it!)
The Easter Bunny was pretty nice to our kids this year.  The boys got these sweet bikes and baskets full of candy.  The girls each got a pillow pet-Addison got a ladybug and Eden got a purple hippo-and lots of candy, make up, bubbles, etc.

You can tell I'm a professional photographer what with the dirty lens and everything.  Whoops!  I didn't realize these pictures were blurry until way later.  At least I have pictures though, right?
We colored eggs Sunday after church.  The kids had a blast!

As you can see from the pictures, we didn't even wait until dinner was cleaned up to start with the eggs. Speaking of dinner, my husband made the BEST PRIME RIB I have ever tasted!  Seriously, Damien is such a talented cook-I really think we should make him the full time cook.  We had delicious sides along with our prime rib, and Easter Dinner was so enjoyable!  It was just us, and even though it was a little quiet compared to spending the day with family, it was nice to just hang out.

The girls getting ready for bed after a long day of Easter activities.  The had to have another serving of dessert before heading off to bed!
